CATCHING UP ON FISHING REPORTS FOR MAY 2007

SHORT AND SWEET VERSION
FISH ARE BITING! GO FISHING!
GULF STREAM TRIPS
The Dolphin bite is wide open. A lot of double digit days on dolphin with Wahoo and sailfish mixed in. "When the Weather will let you get there!"
10 and 12hr BOTTOM FISHING TRIPS
From 140' to the break, Grouper are biting so hard they are taking rods for people. Red Snapper, Mango, Beliners, Triggerfish and Amberjacks are filling up the box also.
8hr TRIPS
Cobia have showed up on the manta rays migrating up the beach and are all over the local wrecks inside 25 miles. A lot of the Red Snapper we are catching the last couple of trips are barely missing the legal mark by a half inch or so. But there is starting to be more Legal Snapper to keep than there has been the last couple of months. Grouper and Amberjacks are chewing inshore also. Beliners are wide open with some really nice Triggerfish and Flounder mixed in.
If the Weather will come down, the fishing for the rest of this month and into June should be really good. |

April 12, 2007 fishing report

What's up with the Weather? We've had three cold fronts come through in the past two weeks. And another one coming to shut down the ocean for this weekend. Is this the first half of April, Or the first half of March?
The fishing is really good, when you can get to it. The Gulfstream trips are still giving up good numbers on Wahoo with some Dolphin and Blackfin Tuna mixed in. The Dolphin bite has slowed down a bit this past week, but it's still early and it should get cranked up any day now. The Miss Daisy went 3 for 5 on Wahoo and a gaffer Dolphin on her last trip out.
Bottom fishing the break is red hot for big Grouper, Snapper and Amberjack, when the tide will slow down enough to let you fish.
Back inshore ( 130' 140' ten hour trips) Fishing is wide open. The Miss Daisy has mainly been bottom fishing. We have been catching are limit on nice Beliners and Triggerfish with some Scamps and Gag grouper, Red Snapper and Jacks mixed in. A lot of boats have been trolling in there, picking up some Wahoo, King fish, and a Dolphin or two.
On the 8 hour trips the party grounds are red hot too. The Seabass, beliners and Triggerfish are eating the bottom of the boat out. The Grouper and Snapper are chewing back inshore also. Cobia and King fish have started showing up this past week on the outer end of the party grounds.

HOT! HOT! HOT! THE BITE IN ON!!! 4-01-07'

Winter time is over. The sunny 80 degrees days is finely here. ( fishing in shorts and flip flops.) The water temp is in the upper sixty's inshore, (out to 20 miles) and lower to mid seventy's offshore. Bottom fishing back inshore 20 mile, Snapper and Grouper are chewing it up, along with good catches of sea bass, trigger fish. and beeliners.
On the troll, Wahoo bite is still hot, and the dolphin are showing up in nice size and good numbers. There also has been a few Blue Marlin caught in the past few weeks.
I still have plenty of days open in April and May and a few weekends days also.

WAHOO BITE IS ON!

The Month of February was the best we've had in he past three to four years.
The Warmer water for this time of year has the fish on fire. The trolling was, ( and still is) very good for Wahoo. Lots of 4 to 5 fish days,"on the low side", with bites in the double digits for every boat I had talk to. The fish weighed anywhere from 30 to 90lbs each.
Lots of nice Blackfin Tuna and some Dolphin, and Sailfish mix in with them also.
On the Bottom, Seabass and beeliners are wide open. This past week or so, we had some good trips with some really nice Grouper, Snapper and Flounder mix in.
I fished yesterday (March 6), and had Three nice Grouper to 18lbs, 25 Flounder to 6lbs, and two 5 gallon buckets full of nice Seabass.
This looks to be another really good month also, and I have lots of days and some weekends still open. }<(((((> |
